The Prioritize, Target, and Measure Application (PTMApp) is a web application which be used by practitioners to provide the technical bridge between the general description of the types of strategies in conservation plans and the identification of implementable on-the-ground Best Management Practices (BMPs) and Conservation Practices (CPs).
The International Water Institute and Houston Engineering Inc. developed PTMApp with funding from the MN Board of Water and Soil Resources (MN Clean Water Fund) and the Red River Watershed Management Board. The application is also supported in North Dakota through funding from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Department of Environmental Quality.
PTMApp information can be used to interactively and in real-time, PRIORITIZE resources and the issues impacting them, TARGET specific fields to place CPs and BMPs, and MEASURE water quality improvement by tracking the expected nutrient and sediment load reductions delivered to priority resources.
The tool enables practitioners to build prioritized and targeted implementation scenarios, measure the cost-effectiveness of the scenario for improving water quality, and report the results to pursue funds for project implementation.
